Welcome Back! I know, it has been way too long since I blogged about anything. Our life has been hectic. So many milestones have passed: Joshua's baptism, Joshua's 1st Birthday, Bella has started Kindergarten, Bree is now a Jr. and Jeremy will be graduating this year.
I am still in school so this will account for the lack of updates. I feel like one of those poor unfortunate children who have school all year round, but at least they get a break every once in a while. I have been in school for a year straight now with only two weeks in between the summer semster last year, a few weeks at winter break and now a much needed and deserved Spring Break!
I should probably ring in this new post with a really funny story about my drive to pick up Bree from her part-time job last night. (Yes, she is now working waiting tables) So..my story goes like this -
I had a hillarious conversation with Bella in the car. I caught her playing with Joshua's baby wipes while I was driving. Okay, I didn't actually see her playing with the wipes at first. I smelled the babywipe scent and asked her what she was doing. Her reply, "nothing". I knew that nothing meant something. So I asked her if she had the babywipes. At this point, I was at a stop light and took a quick glance behind me in the rear view mirror and saw she was wiping the window with one. Any mom or dad can tell you that wipes leave a film on glass..and besides, that is just wasteful especially since Josh has been known to have sever blow outs at times and this one wipe could be a make it or break it deal when wiping a muddy behind.
I told her that I knew she was doing something she wasn't suppose to be doing while I was driving. I told I knew what she was doing because of the "eye in the back of my head". She asked me how I got it and I told her I got it when I became a mommy..her reaction, "Why would God do that to you?! I don't want to be a mommy..I don't want an eye in the back of my head!!" I was laughing a silent laugh so hard I almost had to pull off the side of the road!
She became silent and for those of you who know Bella, you know she doesn't do "silent" very well. As I got to the restaurant to pick up Bree, I told Bella that my "eye" would wink at her and I started to try and part my hair so she could see.. she started freaking out and screaming, "NO NO NO.. I don't want to see it.. that is just creepy".. I was laughing so hard the van was shaking!!
She totally bought it when I told her I had an eye in the back of my head to see when she is not being good when my back is turned. I tried to get her to play with my hair tonight (which she loves to do) but she wouldn't budge..said my eye would look at her if she did.. LMAO!!
I love to have fun with my kids....Bella is still young enough to believe that mommy has an eye that sees everything..good or bad. She did say she knew that daddy didn't have an eye because she could see his head (because daddy has no hair)..I laughed really hard when she said this and I had to tell her that only mommy's get the all knowing all seeing eye.
Well, here's looking at your Bella!! :)
